Grating Aperture Size Calculator
This calculator estimates the transverse diffracted footprint on the two gratings in a dual-grating pulse compressor, using:
D1 = D₀ / cos(θᵢ) + 2A
D2 = D₀ / cos(θᵢ) + L · (tan(θd,max) − tan(θd,min)) + 2A
where D₀ is the incident beam diameter, θᵢ is the incidence angle, d is the groove density, L is the normal (perpendicular) grating separation, A is the edge margin, and λmin/λmax are the shortest/longest wavelengths of the incident spectrum.
