Dispersion Calculator for Prism Pairs

This calculator is designed to compute the dispersion characteristics of materials used in prism pairs. By selecting a material and inputting the wavelength, length, and prism angle, the system will automatically calculate and display relevant dispersion parameters.

Usage Instructions:

  1. Select the material (Fused Silica or SF10).
  2. Enter the wavelength (unit: nanometers, range: 210-3710 nm).
  3. Enter the length (unit: meters, minimum value: 0, precision up to 0.01 meters).
  4. Enter the prism angle β (unit: degrees, range: 0-360 degrees, precision up to 0.01 degrees).
  5. Click the "Calculate" button to view the results.

Explanation of Beta Angle: Angle β is the angle between the reference ray and other rays propagating near the apices of the prisms. The reference ray travels from apex to apex of the prisms, and the angle β measures the deviation of nearby rays from this reference path. The angle β could be set to <0.1 degrees to start.
